Read Why iPhone SE Can Never Be As Good As iPhone 6s

Two weeks ago, Apple amazed everyone with a powerful 4-inch iPhone, at a special event. The iPhone SE is packed with remarkable hardware, which makes it equivalent to the last flagship variant, iPhone 6s.

However, it is not as durable as the iPhone 6 series, reported Mac rumors. With its latest smartphone, Apple wants to cater the users who prefer a device with a smaller screen but want high-end specs.

The iPhone 5/5s body that embeds the iPhone 6s processor seems like an excellent job. However, the company has compromised on the quality of the build.

Squaretrade, an extended service provider for different kinds of electronics, ran water, drop, tumble, and bend tests on the new iPhone SE, 6s, and 6s Plus. Surprisingly, the smaller iteration, which seems sturdier in built, is actually less durable than the iPhone 6 series.

Bendgate, a problem famous with the iPhone 6 Plus users pockets, surfaced soon after its launch. Apple believes that occurrence of this problem is "extremely rare," and only nine customers complained about.

The company later on completely resolved this issue in iPhone 6 Plus and 6s Plus, as it used a stronger aluminum for its body.
Bendgate has been a major concern for many users since, therefore Squaretrade conducted the bend test on the three most recent models and the results are as following:
"iPhone SE bent at a force of 160 pounds
"iPhone 6s bent at a force of 170 pounds
"iPhone 6s Plus bent at a force of 178 pounds

According to the results, iPhone SE seems less durable than other latest flaghips.

However, since it is smaller than the 6 series, users do not have to worry at all about it getting bent in their pockets. The water-resistance and the drop test further suggests that iPhone SE is less durable than iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Water resistance test showed that SE crashed in less than a minute after being submerged in water, compared to 6s which lasted for 30 minutes. In the drop test, all three devices were completely ruined in the face-down drop from 6 feet. When dropped on the corners, iPhone SE received major injuries, whereas the other two survived the same test.

Apple iPhone SE delivers excellent performance with a smaller screen at a good price, but these tests show it has some drawbacks too. If users really want to invest in this device, they should know that they may not get a complete iPhone 6s experience, other than some features it lacks in durability as well.
